A DRINK driver has been banned after being more than twice over the limit.
Carlo Carta, of Holden Road, Leigh, registered a reading of 78 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breathe when he was breathalysed on November 24. The legal limit is 35.
The 51-year-old, who was stopped on Holden Road, has been disqualified from driving for 20 months which may be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a course.
He has been fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £30 and court costs of £85.
Carta was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
