AN arson probe has been launched after a house and van was set on fire on the same road within 48 hours.
Police were called to Oxford Road in Atherton on New Year's Day on Tuesday at around 10pm after an object was set alight and caused fire damage to the front of a home.
Officers were sent to the same road at 3am today, Thursday, after a transit van was ablaze.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Detectives are treating the fires as linked and believe it was a targeted attack."
No-one was hurt in either of the incidents.
Enquiries are ongoing.
