A DRINK driver has been ordered to complete 100 hours of community service after being more than three times over the limit.

Luke Gorton, of Princes Avenue, Tyldesley has 122 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was breathalysed on Tyldesley Road in Atherton on New Year's Day. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

In addition to finishing the unpaid work in one year, the 30-year-old was banned from driving for two years and six months which may be reduced by 30 weeks if he completes a course.

He was also ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £85 and court costs of £85.

Gorton was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
