A MAN has been handed nine points on his driving record after failing to stop for police.

Joshua Williams, of Car Bank Street, Atherton pleaded guilty to failing to stop for police and driving without care and attention on Brook Street on January 3.

The 20-year-old also admitted to having no insurance or a licence allowing him to drive the car he was behind the wheel of on the day.

As well as the points on his record, he has been fined £120, ordered to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £30 and court costs of £85.

Williams was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
