A MAN has been handed a suspended sentence after assaulting a paramedic.
Kevin Smith, of Telford Crescent, Leigh admitted to the assault of the emergency services worker who was trying to treat him in Wigan on December 18.
The 38-year-old has been given a four-month sentence suspended for one year and ordered to complete an alcohol dependency course.
He must also pay a compensation fee of £200, a victim services surcharge fee of £115 and court costs of £85.
Smith was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court yesterday, Tuesday.
