TWO Oldham law firms have teamed up with Mahdlo Youth Zone to have their wills written.

Annual Will Week runs from March 4 to 8 and the companies – North Ainley, in Clegg Street and Wrigley Claydon, Union Street – are offering to write wills for people in return for a donation to Mahdlo.

John Ainley, partner at North Ainley, said: “Surprisingly, more than half of adults in the UK have not made a will which can have unfortunate legal consequences.

“These can be avoided by simply making an appointment with a solicitor of your choice who will give you friendly advice and guide you through the process.

“Everyone above the age of 18 should consider making a will, not only to deal with finances but also, for example, arrangements for young children."

Claire Crossfield, Mahdlo’s development manager, said: “Last years will week campaign was really successful and we are hoping that with even more companies on board this years will help us raise even more funds to support our delivery programme with young people.

“The generosity of the local solicitors and people means that we can continue to grow and develop much needed services which will have a lasting impact upon our member’s lives.”

Rachel Damianou, from Wrigley Claydon, added: “Trusted for 200 years, Wrigley Claydon is proud to be involved in Mahdlo’s Will Week, helping raise funds for Oldham’s Youth.”
