FOR ABBA fans it’s a case of ‘Here We Go Again’ for this summer’s Cinema on the Carrs in Wilmslow.

Following the most successful event to date in 2018, with record attendances for the afternoon and evening features, Cinema on the Carrs is back for summer 2019.

Wilmslow Town Council introduced the Cinema on the Carrs concept in 2015, when Mamma Mia proved hugely popular with the crowds, some in costume, singing and dancing throughout.

Five years on, and the follow-up to the smash-hit film is being screened on Saturday, June 8.

Wilmslow Town Council has agreed to fund and organise its premier community summer event for 2019, which as in previous years will be free to attend and allow friends, family and neighbours to gather and enjoy the films together in the surroundings of the Carrs Park.

Once again there will be a family-orientated afternoon film, which will be announced nearer the time.

The afternoon will also feature children’s entertainment, culminating in the annual duck race on the River Bollin at about 4.30pm.

With ‘Here We Go Again’ for the main evening event, the Carrs will rock to the sounds of ABBA, when the 2018 sequel to the original Mamma Mia movie will be shown on the big screen as darkness falls.

Timings and details of other aspects of the day will be announced nearer the time.
