POLICE investigating the death of mum Maggie Smythe are combing another area of Breightmet.

A small piece of land on Newby Road has been taped off as police examine the area.

A police spokesman confirmed their presence was part of the on-going investigation into the death.

Earlier this week police issued a fresh appeal for information as specialist officers continue to support the family of Maggie, who was a cleaner at Bolton Interchange and a mum to a three-year-old daughter.

An investigation was launched after Maggie went missing from her home in Swinside Road, Breightmet, on Saturday, January 26.

On Friday, February 1, police discovered Maggie's body at the rear of the former Red Bridge Inn.
