A NEW community political party is set to challenge for votes in the local elections this year.

Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley Together (LATT) held its first official meeting recently with four candidates set to stand for the borough elections in May.

Party leader Jayson Lomax-Hargreaves will be bidding to run for Leigh West and treasurer Quinton Smith will hope to stand in Atherton.

Market stallholder James Morley will be hoping to be on the ballot for Leigh East with Sue Davies planning on getting the backing of residents in Atherleigh.

LATT's secretary is Michelle Lomax-Hargreaves with party member Chris Scannell helping with duties such as leafleting.

The party are waiting from confirmation from Wigan Council that their candidates will be on the ballot sheets.
