THE BSF Over-35s Football League programme consisted mostly of round-robin Divisional Cup matches on Sunday, with four rearranged league games to help clear the backlog.

Paul Berry and Ben Hughes scored to give Old Bolts a 2-1 victory over Tika Taka Volunteers in the Division Two A Cup, and goals from Mike Cowburn, Michael O’Rourke and Ross Crompton helped Horwich St Mary’s win in the same group.

In Division Two B, Paul Mathews, Neil Mathews and Darren Holt were on target in Turton Vets' victory over AFC Dobbies B, whose Mark Stubbs scored twice, while Del Rosso and Robert Knight gave BLGC a 2-0 away win at Radcliffe Town.

The Division Three A game saw hosts Bolton Wyresdale beat Moss Bank 2-1 thanks to goals by Ric Fielding and Jason Knowles, but there was no winner at Gidlow who drew with Radcliffe Old Boys B.

Martin Mehan scored two for the home side, while Nathan Comley and Paul De-Leth replied for Radcliffe.

Radcliffe Vets B went down 2-1 at home to Tavern Vets, for whom Ian Teesdale and Josh Griffiths struck in their Division Three B encounter, while it was one-way traffic at Royal Farnworth who thrashed The Lever Arms 6-0.

The Division Four A match at Ainsworth was also a high-scoring affair as Gareth Harrison and Jack Coyle both scored two and Michael Jefferson got the other in a 5-0 victory over Tottington United.

Heaton Casuals also scored five in their Division Four B game against Unity Brook.

Mark Berry and Neil Darbyshire scored for the visitors, but a Chris Sutcliffe hat-trick and strikes from Paul Mergano and Ian Oldfield saw Heaton to victory.

In the same group, Paul Worsley and Noel Coleman scored for PF Bury to earn a draw against Wigan Town, for whom Martin Hastings and Glenn Muddiman were on target.

The scheduled Division Four A match between Atherton Town and Deans Youth was played as a league game, and the cup tie will now be this coming Sunday.

Simon Mulcrow and Mark Bretherton netted for the home side but a Steve Lockett hat-trick earned Deans three valuable points which saw them climb to fourth in the table.

The three rearranged Division One games produced a remarkable 25 goals, including 14 in one drawn game.

Radcliffe Old Boys A beat Radcliffe Vets A 2-1 in the low-scoring match, Carl Lomax and Abid Uddin scoring for the home side and Mark Westhead for the visitors.

By contrast, Queen Lizzy and Barhill both scored seven to share the points.

Lee Whitely scored four, Aaron McCarthy two and Russell Fox one for Queen Lizzy, while Jason Mears (two), Bryan Love, David Lucas, Colin Snelgrove, Stephen Hughes and Matty Campbell were on target for the visitors.

Salford Victoria crushed bottom team Bar Lane Bowling Club 6-2 with goals by Lee McNamara, Carl O’Mally, Tony Weall and an Allan Houghton hat-trick, but a Leon Hamilton brace denied Salford a clean sheet.
