A HOMEBUILDER has partnered with more than 15 charities, schools and nurseries to support ongoing projects and learning days.

Learning days and activity sessions have been held with schools, charities and sport clubs as well as several donations being been made over a five-year period, which have helped to support ongoing and specialist projects.

Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, said: “As a responsible homebuilder, we understand that it takes a lot more than bricks and mortar to create homes.

“It has always been important that our developments boast a real sense of community and a large part of this is supporting the existing organisations and services, like Leigh St Peter’s Primary School, The Brick homeless charity and Squirrels Children’s Day Nursery, that do so much for the community.

“It’s our pleasure to offer what we can to these causes and see this sense of neighbourhood and community grow with each year.”

2019 marks five years since the flagship Pennington Wharf development first opened its doors.

Most recently the developer celebrated war hero, Private Alfred Wilkinson, from Leigh, by unveiling a statue of him at the development.

Private Wilkinson was given the highest military honour for the bravery he showed in completing a daring mission across no man’s land during the First World War at the Battle of Selle, in Marou, in northern France, during October 1918.

With numerous residents already calling Pennington Wharf home, and a further two phases of properties planned for 2019, Taylor Wimpey is committed to continuing to support the initiatives that are close to the heart’s of its customers and indeed the wider community.

Chloe adds: “We still have a lot of building to do at Pennington Wharf and look forward to partnering with organisations, old and new, to continue making this a great place to call home.

“Pennington Wharf is testament to what can be achieved when great homes are built in the right location, surrounded by clubs and organisations that form the lifeline of a happy, healthy community – roll on another successful year”
