A MAN who assaulted a woman has been handed a community service order.
Christopher Sheppard, of Fell Street, Leigh admitted to assaulting the woman on February 25 when he appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old also pleaded guilty to two counts of threatening behaviour and stealing £15 worth of food from Morrison's on the same day.
He must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, pay £200 worth of compensation fees and complete a rehabilitation activity requirement.
