FLORAL tributes and candles have been left at the scene where a woman was stabbed to death, as residents are left reeling after the suspected murder.
Flowers and candles saying 'nan' and 'magical mummy' have been left outside a property on Manchester Road, Leigh where a woman in her 40s was found dead at on Sunday evening just before 8pm.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 37-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A police scene remains in place on Manchester Road while a second scene is also in place on York Street, Leigh.
Police say they are treating the death as an isolated incident and there is not believed to be any threat to the wider community.
Cordons are present outside the property as well as nearby York Street.
