ONE person was cut out of a car by fire and rescue officers after a three-vehicle crash in Leigh.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Wigan Road in Leigh near the Royal Oak pub shortly before 5pm yesterday, Wednesday.
One person had to be rescued from a vehicle and another five people were injured in the crash.
Two ambulances and a rapid response unit were sent to the scene.
Three people were taken to hospital and the other three suffered minor injuries.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Two fire engines from Leigh and Hindley attended along with the Tactical Rescue Unit.
"Firefighters used stabilisation and cutting equipment, a privacy screen and hose reel to free a casualty and make the scene safe.
"There were a further five casualties at the incident and crews were in attendance for an hour."
Police were also at the incident.
