A NEW travel agency will be welcoming customers through its doors at Spinning Gate Shopping Centre in Leigh next week.

Independent company Jetz Travel will be opening its store near to the centre's car park entrance on Saturday, April 13 and will be having launch day celebrations.

The business is owned by Nick Brooks, 47, and managed by him and his wife Donna, 48, who live in Astley.

Donna started her career as an overseas rep in Turkey in 1995 and then moved to other destinations including Benidorm, Fuerteventura and Tunisia.

Later on she become a resort manager in Florida and Las Vegas before recently being employed as a business development manager for Sandals Resorts, which has taken her around the Caribbean.

Her success in the latter position led to her winning a Sandals Business Development Manager of the Year award.

Qualified accountant Nick, who shares Donna's passion for travel, having gone on overseas holidays to Australia, Dubai, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Spain and more holiday destinations.

Nick said: “Jetz Travel pride themselves on providing a first-class service and is looking forward to assisting customers with their holiday selections.

"It is an independent travel agency and can suggest holiday destinations all over the world and cruise holidays too."

A member of ABTA, Jetz Travel is a trading name of The Midcounties Co-operative Ltd when selling travel arrangements.

Spinning Gate Shopping Centre manager Karen Cox added: "We are delighted that Jetz Travel are joining the centre and adding to our retail mix.

"Spinning Gate has a wide selection of both independent and national stores, providing a wide choice for our shoppers.

"We are excited for the launch of Jetz Travel opening who are providing employment opportunities for the town too."
