A DRINK driver has been banned for four years after being more than three times over the limit.

Matthew Caldwell, of Douglas Street, Hindley had 108 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was breathalysed at a Tesco store on March 17. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

As well as being disqualified, the 34-year-old has been ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.

He must pay a victim services surcharge fee of £85 and court costs of £85.

Caldwell was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
