A GROUP of young dancers has qualified for the final of a national dancing competition.
A team of 16 girls from Leigh St Mary's CE Primary School, aged from 10 to 11, finished fourth in an event to book their place in the U DO IT! Dance Foundation UK National Schools Championships final.
The Walmesley Road school pupils danced their socks off to a medley of Michael Jackson songs in the Primary Street Dance category.
Amanda Ellison, who taught the group, said: "The girls danced brilliantly and all the hard work that they have put in over the last few weeks really paid off.
"It's a real achievement for our little primary school to get to the finals of such a big competition.
"The standard of dancing was really high and I hope that they realise what it is they have achieved."
The group will now be working hard before competing in the final at the same venue, Fenton College in Stoke-on-Trent, on June 26.
