PLANS have been submitted to turn a newsagents into a taxi office.
A change-of-use application has been issued to turn a newsagents property on Market Street in Hindley into a taxi office.
In the pre-application advice section of the application form, Wigan Council planner Emma Breheny says she discussed the parking provision with her colleagues in Highways as there is none "within the immediate vicinity."
There are also double yellow lines outside the property.
Ms Breheny suggests "it may be appropriate to enter into an agreement with parking services to use one of the council owned car parks in the area outside of peak hours.
"However a condition would be set to highlight that drivers must not park on Market Street at any time."
A neighbourhood consultation is currently in place until, Thursday, May 2 with a decision expected to be made on May 20.
