IT’S exactly a year ago today that I was shocked but delighted to receive an official invitation by the Queen to visit Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Garden Party.

This invitation came after many years of charity work and although I didn’t fundraise for awards I was nevertheless very grateful and overjoyed to receive the invite.

Val and I relive the memories of that day over and over and I think neither of us will ever forget the wonderful experience we shared at the Palace.

I have been very lucky to have the continued support of our community and I wanted this week to say thank you to you all.

You always turn up and support our events, local businesses always donate to our raffles and auctions and I know that whenever Val and I try to help local causes through our events that you all have our back and jump straight in with your support. We are very grateful for that.

I’m sitting here in the lovely sunshine writing this and reflecting proudly on what we have achieved together over the years, raising thousands of pounds and having a great time in doing so. Team work!

That’s one of the reasons I have started my new website www.allabouttrafford.co.uk - It’s my chance to help people find out what is happening in our lovely borough of Trafford, but again it will take team work.

All About Trafford Is an events website for you, the community by you, the community. Rather than mindlessly copying and pasting events that I find from across the internet, I am giving you, the community, the opportunity to send me what is happening in your part of Trafford and I will add it the events page for you. I will also give your events a shout out in my weekly video. This website does exactly what it says on the tin, events in Trafford and nothing else. It’s your website for your events.

Thank you to those who have already emailed your events and your well wishes in. Please do keep sending your events to devlinbookings@aol.com
