A LARGE turnout joined the annual Good Friday walk of witness last week.
Representatives of churches in Leigh set off from St Joseph's RC Church on Chapel Street with the Christ symbol of Christ through the streets.
They then stopped on Bradshawgate to sing praises.
A service of prayer and worship at Civic Square then took place before refreshments were offered at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Leigh.
A big crowd of residents attended the event.

At the service, Vicar of Christ Church Pennington, Rev Alan Saunders, spoke of the love expressed through Jesus’ act of sacrifice on the cross from the Gospel of John, chapter 15, and verse 13.
The verse says “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends".
Rev Saunders added: “The message was a timely reminder of God’s love for us and the call on all our lives to love each other, especially in our great town of Leigh.”
