POLICE have released CCTV of two men after a taxi driver was assaulted and robbed in Wallasey.
At around 5.35am on Sunday, April 7 a taxi driver had picked up a fare from Gorsey Lane in Poulton and had asked two male passengers to get out as they were behaving 'erratically'.
He was then assaulted, receiving minor injuries, and had cash stolen.
The men than ran off towards Poulton Road in the direction of Central Park.
Officers have now released images of two men that they believe could have vital information to help with their investigation.
Detective inspector Laura Lamping said: "We think the two men pictured may have information to assist this investigation. If you recognise them, let us know.
"This was an unprovoked assault of a taxi driver going about his business.
"Although his injuries were thankfully not more serious, this would have been a distressing experience, and we will act on all information to bring those responsible to justice."
