On arrival firefighters discovered that a large part of the roof was well alight.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the building in Liverpool.
There were no injuries.
Firefighting continued until the early hours of Thursday morning.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is set to be carried out.
Road closures were in place on Conway Street between Adelphi Street and Argyle Street while firefighters worked to make the area safe.
Neighbouring nightclub Red Buddha confirmed that they would be open as usual this weekend alongside the Beach and Cool Room.
