A POLICE investigation is underway after a child was found with a knife at a Wirral school.
Officers were called to Prenton High School for Girls on Wednesday.
A police spokeswoman told the Globe: "At around 4pm, officers attended Prenton High School for Girls to reports that a 12-year-old girl had brought a knife to school.
"The knife was recovered and police are investigating the incident.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 quoting ref. 19100201289 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111."
The school has declined to comment on the situation.
