AN 11-year-old boy has received praise from the Queen after his Geography teacher sent her work his pupil had done about Thailand.
Atherton Community School teacher Mr Jerram penned a letter to the Monarch ahead of a state visit to the Asian country, which included the research work of pupil Sam Wiles.
Sam also offered an idea to the Queen of trying Buddhist meditation to reduce stress.
The Queen’s office replied to say she was “especially touched” that Sam was inspired by her trip to Thailand and “greatly appreciates” the “exceptional care” taken to research and report on the country.
The letter sent from the Queen's office to Sam
Sam said: “It was mind blowing to receive a letter back from the Queen."
The Hamilton Street school was also delighted with the letter.
Head of school Mr Ben Layzell added: “It is wonderful to see the hard work of Sam rewarded in this way.
"It really was fantastic to see Sam’s face light up when he opened the letter."
