NEiGHBOURHOOD Weekender returns to Victoria Park next weekend for two days of live music.

George Ezra and Richard Ashcroft headline two days of music at the Latchford park with tens of thousands set to attend.

So we decided to look back in our archives to 1996.

Warrington was the venue for the first V Festival which became inked in the summer festival calendar for the next two decades at venues in Staffordshire and Essex.

Pulp, Cast, the Lightning Seeds and The Cardigans performed over the two-day event in August of that year.

Indeed the Charlatans and Gaz Coombes from Supergrass performed in 1996 and are on next weekend's line-up - 23 years on.

Here are some of our favourite pictures from V96.
