A TEENAGER died after being hit by a train near Wigan yesterday afternoon, Wednesday.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the railway line at around 3.45pm.
Paramedics attended the scene and a 19-year-old man pronounced dead.
A BTP spokesman said: "Officers are currently working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Train services were delayed following the incident.
