HAVE you ever wanted to meet a dinosaur? Maybe even feed or pet one?

Well, today could be you're lucky day – of sorts – as Tiny the Dinosaur is heading to Salisbury's Old George Mall this afternoon.

The 125 million-years-old Stegosaurus, brought to life by the "wonders of modern science", will be at the city shopping centre for live, 25-minute showcases at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Joined by a palaeontologist, a lively and interactive natural history show will also be delivered to attending families, while children will be invited to share their own Jurassic expertise and theories.

The fun does not end there either, as children will have the opportunity to take part in several prehistoric-themed activities, including mask and wall colouring and a dinosaur hunt, which will result in children being recognised with certificates as Official Dinosaur Hunters.

Families will be able to add an extra bite at the dinosaur-themed day too. Several of Old George Mall’s retailers will also be celebrating Tiny the Dinosaur’s visit, with Byron Burgers providing discounts on its one-off ‘Choco-saurus Rex’ shake and dinosaur burgers, including the incredibly popular B-Rex, whilst Lakeland will be giving away specially-crafted biscuits.

Andrew Philip, interim centre manager at Old George Mall, said: “Dinosaurs are creatures that continue to fascinate people of all ages and, as a site, we’re pleased our local families in the community will be able to see for themselves just what these creatures were like when Tiny the Dinosaur visits later this month.

“The school half-term is a great opportunity for families to spend quality time together and this unique event is one that I think will catch the imagination. It isn’t every day that you get chance to come face to face with a dinosaur after all."
