THIS photograph shows the scene after a lorry crashed into the Queen’s Arms in Tyldesley.

It is believed that the image, which captures the wreckage of the pub at the corner of Chaddock Lane and the East Lancashire Road, was taken around 1935.

The lorry driver was Harry Hughes, from North Shields, who reportedly had a “miraculous escape from serious injury”.
