APPETITES will be racing at Bents Garden and Home in Glazebury in the next two weekends.

The Warrington Road centre’s Meet the Makers Food Festival will begin on Friday, June 7 and continue on Saturday, June 8.

Gourmet tasting and demonstrations will take centre stage on these two dates with customers given the chance to try before they buy.

Tasters from cheese and chutneys to pies and pates will be on offer.

Anyone attending the event and checking in on social media will be entered into a free prize draw to win a luxury food hamper to the value of £50.

And on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16, Bents will host its first barbecue, beer and wine tasting event.

Breweries and wineries will join in with the fun.

Visitors can enjoy barbecue treats and learn from experts about different ways of cooking.

Private Eye cartoonist Tony Husband will be a special guest on Saturday, June 15 and will have a “cartoon confessional area”.

People will be able to have their “confession” made into a personalised cartoon for a small charge.
