THIS photograph of the corner of Bradshawgate and King Street in Leigh was taken in the 1930s.
Paul Hook, from Leigh, shared the picture which shows Dewhurst and Co Gents Tailors next door to Mortons hosiery and underwear store.
Paul says these buildings survived until around 1934 before they were demolished and replaced by Burtons tailors, which was built in an Art Deco style.
The junction of Market Street, King Street, Bradshawgate and Railway Road is known as The Turnpike. It was given this name when a toll gate was situated in that area.
