A FORMER church was sold for £90,000 last week.
The Baptist Chapel on Charles Street in Golborne went under the hammer at an auction at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester on Wednesday, June 5 in an event held by SDL Auctions North West.
The semi-detached property, which had a guide price of £55,000+*, offers single-storey accommodation split into the main chapel, community room, kitchen and vestry.
Outside, it has a small garden on three sides of the building.
SDL Auctions described the property as "an attractive building which would lend itself to a variety of uses".
The Journal has contacted SDL Auctions to ask if the new owner would like to outline any plans for the building.
* Each property is subject to a Reserve Price which may be different from the Guide Price.
