THE show must go on and rain didn't stop residents from Four Acre enjoying an evening of fun, including a screening of The Greatest Showman, in a bid to get them active.

The event, which was supposed to take place outside, was moved into St Michael's and All Saints CHurch on Gartons Lane where residents took the first step to improve their health and wellbeing, organised and funded by homes provider, Torus.

It also included fancy dress and fun and games for the children.

Cath Brooks, Torus Foundation Community Investment Officer, said; “The event aimed to engage local people into a community activity and get them thinking about their own health and wellbeing by providing them information and advice on activities available.

"We have run regular free, friendly, mixed-ability, non-judgmental fitness and healthy eating sessions with our partners from St Helens Community Sport and St Helens Healthy Living Team, helping people to go on to improve their lives.”

Local resident, Anthony Hall, talking about the Torus Community Investment Team, said: “I personally cannot believe what Cath and Nikki have done and are doing for the Four Acre community.

"The event was amazing. You can see the care that you both have for Four Acre.”

Ann-Marie Robertson, Torus Project Manager – Neighbourhood Management, said: “Torus Neighbourhood Management were delighted to commission Film on 4Acre.

"The health and wellbeing pilot has been such a success at bringing the community together and allowing local people to support each other to get active and we were keen to recognise this.

"The project has brought together partners from the Torus Foundation, St Helens Sports Development, St Helens Healthy Living Team, St Theresa’s School and our amazing Community Champion volunteers from Four Acre who all worked to make both the pilot project and event a success.”
