A DOG was killed and an elderly man injured after a reported attack by a doberman in Hindley.
Just after 4pm on Monday, June 17, a man was walking his four pet Chihuahua dogs on a field off Bickershaw Lane, Hindley.
During the walk four Doberman dogs not on leads are reported to have attacked the victim's dogs and the victim was bitten whilst trying to intervene.
As a result of the injuries, one of the dogs died. The others were injured.
The owner of the Chihuahua was also left with a hand injury.
The owners of the Doberman's are described as four white men in their 20s. They made off from the field.
