A NUMBER of fish have reportedly been found dead in the Bridgewater Canal in Leigh today, Tuesday.

Environment Agency (EA) teams have been sent to the canal near Butts Bridge to investigate the issue and establish the cause.

An EA spokesman said it is not clear if the incident is related to a case on the Leeds and Liverpool canal near Plank Lane two weeks ago when around 200 small fish died due to pollution.
