A VANDAL wielding a baseball bat smashed the windows of a house in Chapelford late at night.
The home on Chicago Place was targeted at around midnight on Monday, June 25 – with a ground floor window and all the windows of a car parked in the driveway being put through as the homeowners slept upstairs.
Following the attack, a ‘muscular male’ carrying a baseball bat was seen fleeing the scene in the direction of Boston Boulevard.
Inspector Arron Cooper said: “This was a terrifying incident that has understandably left the people who were inside the house extremely shaken up.
“They woke up to the sounds of their windows being smashed by a baseball bat.
“I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are determined to catch whoever smashed the windows and make them face the consequences of their actions.
“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or anything else that may be relevant, to come forward.
“We also want to speak to anyone who believes they may know who was responsible for the criminal damage caused to the house and car.
“The same goes for anyone who thinks that they may have CCTV or dashcam footage of them.”
