MORE than 5,000 sanitary products were donated after a charity yoga class took place on Friday.

Yoga instructor Toni Aspinall invited women to Fit n Funky Ladies Gym in Atherton to a free class in return for making a donation.

Businesses and residents also left items, which were all left with Atherton and Leigh Foodbank.

Toni said: "I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of my yoga students and local businesses supporting this charity drive.

"We have over 5,000 sanitary products that will be given to Atherton and Leigh Foodbank to help local women and girls in crisis.

"No woman should ever have to make a choice between food or tampons but that is the reality lots of women face.

"I hope this helps raise awareness and encourage others to help where they can."

Toni has also praised the "massive efforts" of Fit n Funky Ladies Gym, The Snug Coffee House, Launch Events North West, Imagine Design and Print, HD Salon and Academy and Complexions Hair Salon.
