AROUND 150 people celebrated the life of Buzzcocks lead singer Pete Shelley in a pub gig.
The Leigh-born musician, who grew up on Milton Close, died following a heart attack at his home in Estonia in December.

A host up of bands performed at The Abbey pub in Leigh on Saturday, June 15 to raise funds for a campaign to get a statue of Pete installed in the town.
Paul Lally, who is leading the campaign, said: "It was an absolutely amazing night with a fantastic atmosphere throughout.
"There were some great examples of community spirit getting behind this event and showing great love and respect to Pete Shelley."
Eight-year-old Emily Hamilton, Pete's cousin's daughter, sung her own version of Buzzcocks track Ever Fallen In Love with a backing group in a moving tribute.

Dario Distasi, Hangmans Mojo, My Only Solution, Same As It Ever Woz, Salmon On A Bus, Strangeways, Guy Dwelly and Rebecca Hamilton also took to the stage.
The gig raised £809 for the campaign.
A family fun day with a craft fair, live music and a bowling competition will take place at The Gardeners pub on Lovers Lane in Atherton on August 10 in aid of the cause.
