A PROLIFIC shoplifter was jailed after breaching a court order that prohibiting him from setting foot in certain stores in Leigh.
Philip Atkinson, of Platt Street, admitted entering McDonald's, Asda, Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer when he appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court last week.
But a criminal behavioural order handed to him in December 2017 banned him from going into these stores.
The 40-year-old also pleaded guilty to eight thefts in which he took items such as meat, champagne and razors.
He was given a 48-week prison sentence and told to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £115.
