A MAN has been handed a suspended sentence after assaulting a woman.
Jonathan Twiss, of Hope Street, Leigh assaulted the woman on February 16.
At Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Thursday, the 33-year-old was given a 12-week sentence suspended for 18 months.
He must pay a victim services surcharge fee of £115, court costs £250 and complete a drug dependency course.
Twiss also admitting to drug driving on Manchester Road in Astley on December 9 last year and was disqualified for two years.
The proportion of the controlled drug Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol that was found in his blood was over the limit.
