THREE engines were called to a fire at a disused building in Atherton this morning which may have been used as a cannabis farm.
Crews from Leigh, Atherton and Hindley joined an aerial appliance and pump from Bolton to tackle a blaze at 6.30am this morning on Car Bank Street.
Crews were present for four and a half hours and the investigation has now been passed on to Greater Manchester Police.
A spokesman for GMP, said: "We have launched an investigation into the incident which may be related to the production of cannabis.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote incident 399 of today's date."
