THE family of a man who passed away in hospital have expressed their thanks to two teenagers who enabled them to be able to say a "final goodbye" to him.

Dad-of-six Tyron Lally was found collapsed in Firs Park by a 14-year-old boy and girl on Monday, June 24.

The quick-thinking teenagers alerted the emergency services, with Tyron, 49, taken to Wigan Infirmary.

He sadly passed away on the Friday surrounded by his loved ones.

And to say thank you for giving them the opportunity to say that precious final goodbye, Tyron's family have publicly thanked the two 14-year-olds, Nathan and Brogan.

They event held an event to thank them and brought them flowers, chocolates and card.

"If it wasn't for them, we would not have been able to say that final goodbye," said daughters Kayleigh and Chloe.

"They were 14 years old and they found him.

"When you see someone collapsed like that you can walk away but they used their initiative and at the time he was critically ill.

"That happened on the Monday and he passed away on the Friday.

"It is something that as a family we won't be able to thank them enough. If it wasn't for them it could have been completely different."

Kayleigh added: "We will remember him for his fishing and he loved his motorbike. He was such a popular man in Leigh and was a Westleigh lad."

On a social media post, Kayleigh and Chloe added: "We would just like to say a massive thank you to the two amazing people who found my Dad on Firs Park earlier on this week, and enabled us as a family to spend the last week of his life as a family together, to say our goodbyes. If it wasn’t for you both, we wouldn’t of been given the chance to tell him we loved him and spend precious time with him, before he sadly passed away.

My dad passed with dignity, love and us all holding his hand.

"You see so many posts regarding teenagers doing wrong things, but the two individuals who found my dad and rang the ambulance were 14 years old and for the rest of our lives we will be forever grateful."

Tyron also leaves behind other children Tyler, Mackenzie, Harley and Ryan.
