FAMILIES flocked to the launch of a Leigh shopping centre summer circus yesterday, Monday.

Spinning Gate Shopping Centre's free Summer Circus, which offers entertainment during the school summer holidays, and attracted 300 children on its first day.

It is open every day from 11am to 3pm until Sunday, August 25 with its very own ringmaster.

Each day, little ones will be entertained with activities including circus crafts, spinning plate sessions and plenty of games including tin can alley, feed the clown and lucky spins.

Colouring competitions and even circus soft play sessions are available too.

Every Saturday, the centre has more fun as well.

A giant ringmaster joins the centre on Saturday, August 10, a clown will visit the circus on Saturday, August 17 and a hula hoop artist will treat families with their skills on Saturday, August 24.

Spinning Gate Centre Manager Karen Cox, said: "What a fabulous start to the launch of the Spinning Gate Summer Circus.

"It is a joy to see families relax and having fun with us.

"We have received some fantastic feedback already including 'it's great having free fun entertainment for children during the hols', 'brilliant idea for the kids, my daughter loved it', 'amazing activities, thank you so much'.

"All comments we have captured from families in our Summer Circus memory book."

The Summer Circus is located outside Costa Coffee and provides families time to enjoy a break from shopping.
