The image above shows a day out for a group of men on an outing with Norma’s granddad George.
He is on the second row with a rose on his lapel.
George worked as a coal miner at Bedford Colliery, known as Wood End Pit, and as a chimney sweep during his career.
The photograph above shows two furniture vans that were converted into comfortable living caravans with members of Norma’s family, who lived there.
They were situated on The Poplars in Leigh.
