Animal lovers showed their support for neglected dogs and cats at a charity fundraiser.
The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) Hertfordshire branch held their annual open day last weekend on Saturday (September 7).
Visitors showed their support by helping to raise more than £5,000 for the charity so they can continue the work they do for rescue animals in the county.
The event included a dog agility show, toys and handicraft stalls, sand art and offered the chance to see what cats and dogs were available for rehoming.
The Watford branch of the NAWT on the A41 is currently home to 24 dogs and 30 cats. It rescues more than 400 dogs and cats each year and has policy of never putting a healthy pet down.
The open day is vital for the charity as the money raised goes towards the animal’s upkeep.
