A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Grove Park.

Police were called just before midnight on to a fight in a chicken shop in Downham Way, Grove Park. Officers attended and found two men suffering stab and head injuries.

Both were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. The first man, aged 34, died in hospital on Saturday morning. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem will be held on Sunday.

The second man injured, 51, was released from hospital following treatment and has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Two other men aged 40 and 46 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH. All three have now been further arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to south London police stations where they remain for questioning.

Enquiries into the full circumstances continue.

The man fatally injured was not a worker at the chicken shop.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have been informed and will be investigating working closely with police in Lewisham.
