A DRINK driver who was more than three times over the limit has been banned.

Paul Merrick, of Nel Pane Lane, Leigh was breathalysed by police on Ann Street on August 17.

The 54-year-old admitted drink driving when he appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court yesterday, Wednesday.

He was disqualified for four years, ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and told to pay a £90 victim services surcharge fee and £85 in court costs.

The defendant was also ordered to carry out an alcohol treatment course.
