Star of pop band Hear’Say, Emmerdale and Dancing on Ice, Suzanne Shaw is taking on a new challenge when she comes to Cumbria next month.

She is one of the Hormonal Housewives in the hit comedy stage show of the same name.

Suzanne says she was made for her part, explaining: “This really is my kind of comedy!

“I also like the fact that it touches on real life scenarios and the audiences will no doubt wince at the parts they relate to and have a good laugh while they’re at it!

“I will be injecting some of my very own stories and anecdotes into the script. Also, a little like me, my character does love having a glass of prosecco in her hand!”

The show’s co-writer Julie Coombe, who also stars in the play, makes some serious points during all the comedy.

She says: “Body issues is one: my character is always talking about losing half a stone while the other two talk about losing weight even though they don’t need to – and we all know someone like that!

“Another issue is about women dressing for other women rather than men – men don’t seem to notice what you’re wearing.”

Suzanne says there are certain things she couldn’t do without while on the road: “Make-up and hair products, a hell of a lot of clothes and a bottle of prosecco! Oh no - I really am my character!”

Hormonal Housewives, is at the Carnegie Theatre, Workington, on October 16. For tickets go to www. carnegietheatre.co.uk or call 01900 602122
