PLANS have been submitted to build nine homes on the land where a travelling showman’s caravan site is based.
A planning application has been issued to build homes on King Street in Hindley where a A L Silcock’s Fun Fairs site stands.
The proposals state the land has been in use for more than 50 years and that there are currently six caravans and vehicles associated with the funfair business stationed there.
The applicant is Arthur Silcock.

A design and access statement says: "This development proposal provides an opportunity to allow for the redevelopment of an established site in Hindley town centre and add further low entry cost point housing complying with local and national planning policies.
"All current residents on the site are to be relocated elsewhere outside the borough following the applicant's retirement from his funfair business."
A decision on the application is set to be made on November 25.
