A MAN is in a life-threatening condition after a crash involving a car stolen from an address in Leigh.

Shortly after 4am yesterday morning, Sunday, police were called to reports of a collision on Bickershaw Lane in Wigan.

A blue Ford Fusion with the registration SP53 PKK, which was reported stolen from an address in Leigh yesterday, Saturday, is believed to have collided with parked vehicles along the road.

The car ended up on top of a garage roof at an address on the road.

The full circumstances surrounding the collision are currently being investigated.

The driver of the car fled the scene, but the front seat passenger has been taken to Salford Royal hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Police have been unable to identify the man in hospital and are asking for anyone with information to contact them.

Road closures are currently in place for the public’s safety and to assist police with their investigations.
