THIS picture shows a large crowd gathering to see the visit of the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, at the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh on June 20, 1977.
The Royals visited the venue as part of a tour of the North West.
The Monarch celebrated her Silver Jubilee that year, which marked 25 years of her being at the head of the Royal Family.
The Queen has now been at the helm for 67 years.
